Center Facilities
Laser Treatments
Laser treatments involve the use of focused light beams to treat various medical conditions. In the context of vascular health, lasers can be employed to address issues like varicose veins or other blood vessel abnormalities. The concentrated light energy can target and eliminate specific tissues or blood vessels.

Leg and Diabetic Ulcer Treatments
These treatments focus on managing and healing ulcers, particularly those associated with diabetes. Diabetic ulcers often occur on the feet and legs due to reduced blood flow and nerve damage. Treatment may involve wound care, infection control, and strategies to improve blood circulation.
Peripheral Vascular and Venous Disease
Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) refers to conditions that affect blood vessels outside the heart and brain. This includes diseases of the arteries, veins, and lymphatic vessels. Treatment aims to improve blood flow and may involve medications, lifestyle changes, or surgical interventions.

Amputation
Amputation is the surgical removal of a limb or part of a limb. In the context of vascular health, amputation may be considered in severe cases of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) where blood flow to the extremities is significantly compromised, leading to non-healing wounds or gangrene.
Angioplasty
Angioplasty is a procedure used to open narrowed or blocked blood vessels. During angioplasty, a balloon is inflated within the vessel to widen it and improve blood flow. In some cases, a stent may be placed during the procedure to help keep the vessel open.

Stenting
Stenting is a medical procedure where a small tube (stent) is placed in a blood vessel to help keep it open. This is commonly done in arteries that have become narrowed or blocked, improving blood flow. In the context of vascular health, stenting can be used in various arteries, in the legs.
Podiatry Care Unit
This team of doctors and nurses offers comprehensive and specialized relief treatment procedures for a wide range of conditions, including Heel Pain, Diabetic Foot Care, Foot Deformities, Ankle Instability, Arch Pain, Flat Feet & Hammertoes.

Arteriovenous fistula (AVF)
An arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is a surgically created connection between an artery and a vein, typically in the arm, used for hemodialysis in patients with chronic kidney disease. This access point allows for efficient blood flow during dialysis treatments.
Kidney Transplant Unit
Ruhunu Hospital Vascular Center houses the only private-sector kidney transplant unit in the Southern Province, offering advanced renal care and transplantation services. Recently, the center received government approval, further cementing its status as a leading healthcare facility in the region.
